The ‘Wide search’ facility will be available through the Holiday Manager module of the ‘TravelBox’ Enterprise version. This development gives operators the opportunity to enable the end user to enter a simple set of search criteria that will return logical results ordered according to exact/closest match but will then automatically expand the results to incorporate logical alternatives, based upon yield and book-ability factors.
These could include alternative destinations, airlines, accommodation styles or other configurable criteria based on a set of business or commercial rules. Another feature of this revolutionary concept is the ‘Forced Elements’ component, where operators have the opportunity to automatically display products (without a request from the end-user); that they believe the clients may wish to consider such as transfers and car rentals.
CodeGen believe this is the next generation of dynamic package searches, as its functionality allows a weight to be applied to the configurable parameters, which will ensure the client is offered with either the closest available match to their requirements, or the best logical alternatives, of which the results could further be represented based on yield or other commercial considerations.
CodeGen commented “We believe that this exciting development will revolutionise the opportunities that our clients will have when matching their holiday searches in a very logical and most importantly, in a commercially beneficial way. The Wide search IS the future!”
With its ability to be used across all distribution channels including mobiles, it is the next “Big Thing” which will increase products visibility and provide higher earnings.
